"From the Ground Up"

Riding Lessons

Whether you're brand new to horses or just getting back in the saddle, our lessons are built to meet you where you are. We focus on building confidence, understanding horse behavior, and developing strong, safe riding habits from the ground up.

Lessons are tailored to the rider’s individual pace and goals, and no prior experience is needed. From learning how to groom and tack up to mastering control in the saddle, we take pride in helping each student progress with patience, encouragement, and a whole lot of fun.

FAQ

Q: What age do you start lessons?

We offer lessons for students as young as 5 years old. Each child is evaluated to ensure they're ready for safe, focused interaction with horses.

Q: Do I need any riding experience to start?

Not at all! Our program is designed with beginners in mind. We start from the ground up—literally—and build your skills step by step.

Q: What should I wear?

Closed-toed shoes (no sandals or crocs), long pants like jeans or leggings, and a fitted shirt. Helmets are optional and provided if you don’t have your own.

Q: What should I bring?

Just bring a positive attitude and a bottle of water! If you have your own riding helmet, feel free to bring it. We’ll provide everything else you need.

Q: How long is each lesson?

Lessons typically last between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the rider's age, ability, and focus. This includes both groundwork and riding time.

Q: What’s included in a lesson?

We cover basic horsemanship, grooming, tacking up, riding skills, and how to safely interact with horses on the ground and in the saddle.

Q: Do parents need to stay during the lesson?

For younger riders, we recommend parents stay nearby for the first few sessions. Older students are welcome to ride independently once they’re comfortable.
